A Very Sad Story . . .

The Lord said to Moses, “I have seen this people and behold they are an obstinate people.   Now then, let me alone, that My anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them; and I will make you a great nation.” Exodus 32:9-10

Exodus 32:32-33  Moses responds:  “But now, if you will forgive their sins, and if not, please blot me out from your book which you have written.”    The Lord said to Moses, “who has sinned against Me I will blot him out from my book.”

Moses prophesied of the coming of Jesus Christ:  “The Lord your God will raise up for a prophet like me from among you, you shall listen to him.” Deut 18:15.

Moses was a fore-runner of the Messiah, but not the Messiah.  Jesus interceded for the people and gave his own blood in their place. Anyone who reads Moses should have known that Jesus is the Christ.

When John the Baptist saw the Pharisees and Saducees coming from baptism, he said to them, “you brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?  Therefore bear fruit in keeping with repentance.  And do not supposed you can say “we have Abraham for our father,” for I say to you that from these songs God is able to raise up children to Abraham. The axe is already laid at the root of the trees; therefore everyone that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”  As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.  His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean his threshing floor; and He will gather His wheat into the barn, and He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.  (Matt 3:7-12)

Jesus is speaking about a European man: “Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith with anyone in Israel.  I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven; bu the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness; in that place there will be much weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 8:10-11

Matthew 12:14. [After Jesus healed a man . . ] . . . the Pharisees1 went out and conspired against Him, as to how they might destroy Him.

Matthew 12:24. [After Jesus casts out a demon . . .] But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “this man casts out demons only by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons.”

Matthew 12:28 [Jesus responds to the above accusation . . .] But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. And if verse 31: Therefore I say to you, any sin or blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven.  (32). Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

Matthew 12:34:  [Jesus to the Pharisees . . ] You brood of vipers.

[Parable of the Tares explained by Jesus].  “The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man, 38 and the field is the world; and as for the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the weeds are the sons of the evil one; 39 and the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is the end of the age; and the reapers are angels. 40 So just as the weeds are gathered up and burned with fire, so shall it be at the end of the age. 41 The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness, 42 and they will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Matthew 13:49-50:  So it will be at the end of the age, the angels will come forth and take out the wicked from among the righteous and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Jesus to the Pharisees: “You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy to you: this people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far away from me.  But in vain to they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.”

The disciples tell Jesus: “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this statement?”  Matt 15:12. Jesus responds:  Every plant which which my Heavenly Father did not plant shall be uprooted.   Let them alone (See Parable of the Tares above).  They are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit. (Matt 15:13-14)

Parable of the Landowner: Matthew 21:  V. 43 “ . . . the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to another people (ethnos, ethnicity, nation), producing the fruit of it.   V 45.  When the Chief Priests and the Pharisees hear this parable, the understood that He was speaking about them.

Jesus Calls those originally invited to the wedding feast: “Come to the wedding feast!”’ 5 But they paid no attention and went their separate ways, one to his own farm, another to his business, 6 and the rest seized his slaves and treated them abusively, and then killed them. 7 Now the king was angry, and he sent his armies and destroyed those murderers and set their city on fire. 8 Then he said to his slaves, ‘The wedding feast is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.

Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you travel around on sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he becomes one, you make him twice the son of hell as yourselves. Matthew 23:15.

So you testify against yourselves that you are the sons of those who murdered the prophets.  Fill up then, the measure of the guilt of your fathers, you serpents, you brood of vipers, how will you escape the sentence of hell?   Matthew 23:31-33

Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that Jesus is the only way to God.leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.  For the gate is small and they way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it. (Matt 7:13-24)

Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men I will confess before My Father in heaven.  But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.

Peter declared: “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God!”
