Peter to the Jews:
Which one of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? They killed those who had previously announced the coming of the Righteous One, and you have now become betrayers and murderers of Him; Acts 7:52
Jesus Foretelling Of His Murder by the Jews:
And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise from the dead. Mark 8:31
Paul Says the Jews Killed Jesus:
For you, brothers and sisters, became imitators of the churches of God in Christ Jesus that are in Judea, for you also endured the same sufferings at the hands of your own countrymen, even as they did from the Jews, who both killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us out. They are not pleasing to God, but hostile to all people,
1 Thes 2:14-15
Jews Plotted to Kill Jesus:
- At that time the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together in the courtyard of the high priest named Caiaphas; and they plotted together to arrest Jesus covertly and kill Him. Matt 26:1-4
- Unleavened Bread were two days away; and the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to arrest Him covertly and kill Him; Mark 14:1
- For this reason therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God. John 5:18
- Therefore the chief priests and the Pharisees convened a council meeting, and they were saying, “What are we doing in regard to the fact that this man is performing many signs? John 11:47
- So from that day on they planned together to kill Him. John 11:53
- But the Pharisees went out and conspired against Him, as to how they might destroy Him. Matthew 12:14
Jesus knew the Jews Sought to Kill Him:
- After these things Jesus was walking in Galilee, for He was unwilling to walk in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill Him. John 7:1
- “Did Moses not give you the Law, and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why are you seeking to kill Me?” The crowd answered, “You have a demon! Who is seeking to kill You?” John 7:19-20
The Jewish People Knew their own Leadership were trying to Kill Jesus:
So some of the people of Jerusalem were saying, “Is this man not the one whom they are seeking to kill? John 7:25
Jesus Said the Jews Sought to Kill Him:
- I know that you are Abraham’s descendants; yet you are seeking to kill Me, because My word has no place in you. John 8:37
- But as it is, you are seeking to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God; this Abraham did not do. John 8:40
- You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. John 8:44
Jesus Made it Clear: It Was the Jews, not Pilate, that had the Greater Sin:
Jesus answered him [Pilate], “You would have no authority over Me at all, if it had not been given to you from above; for this reason the one who handed Me over to you has the greater sin.” John 19:11
Peter’s First Sermon on Day of Pentecost:
Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a Man [u]attested to you by God with [v]miracles and wonders and [w]signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know— 23 this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of [x]godless men and put Him to death. Acts 2:22-23
Peter’s Second Sermon:
But you disowned the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 but put to death the [e]Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, [f]a fact to which we are witnesses. Acts 3:14-15
Peter Speaking to the Jewish Rulers and Elders:
by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead. Acts 4:10
Stephen’s Sermon:
You men who are stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears are always resisting the Holy Spirit; you are doing just as your fathers did. 52 Which one of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? Peter continues:
