If one wanted to find the most condensed review of the relationship between Jesus Christ and the Jews, I recommend starting at the eighth chapter of the Gospel according to Saint John.

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

Jesus is talking to “Jews.”  However you define the term, “Jew,” this passage is book ended in verse 31 and verse 57 with term “Jew.” If those people calling themselves Jews in our current era take upon themselves the identity of “Jew,” then it is upon them to either denounce their identity as a Jew or shoulder Christ’s words to the Jew.   If current Jews are the descendants of converts to Judaism (Matthew 23:15) they are “twice the sons of hell” as the original Pharisees.

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

These Jews claim to be of the seed of Abraham — biological descendants of Abraham. But not all the children of Abraham are the chosen people, even in the direct biological sense. Ishmael was the seed of Abraham, but he was not the father of the chosen people.  Esau (and the Edomites) were the biological descendants of Abraham, but they were absolutely rejected by God — for it says “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”  This claim to be offspring an Abraham is no claim to a special status except in their own minds. Note that they make no claim of being the children of Jacob, the sons of Israel.  It is said that Herod was, in fact, an Edomite whose ancestors got circumcised and converted to the “traditions” of the Pharisees.  The Pharisees are the spiritual forefathers of today’s Talmudic Rabbis — the keepers of the torch of Judaism which denies the Father and the Son.

34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever commiteth sin is the servant of sin.

35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.

36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

37 I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.

Jesus acknowledges that the “Jews” he spoke wither were indeed the biological descendants of Abraham, but that is a huge swath of peoples, not all of which are Sons of Israel. Now, no doubt some were of the biological descent of Jacob/Israel. For example, we know that Saint Paul was a Benjamin — a descendant of Benjamin, one of the twelve tribes of Israel. And we know that Paul was extraordinarily loyal to the “teaching of the elders.” Religiously he was a Jew and biologically a son of Judah and geographically though born in Tarsus he lived in Jerusalem.  Complicated, yes?  Yet let the Scripture be the guide — they Bible calls them “Jews.”

38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

Jesus Christ does not agree that share the same father. On the contrary, Jesus states clearly that He (Christ) has one Father, and they they (the Jews) have a completely different father.

39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

Even here, Jesus approaches the question — who really is the father of the Jews?  If these people were truly Abraham’s children they would have done the work of Abraham. What work was that? It was the work of faith — to believe in the Word of God.

40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

Jesus Christ told the Jews — and the whole world via the Bible — that the Jews sought to kill him.  Not only at His birth via Herod and the scribes and chief priests (who said not a word in defense of the boy children slaughtered by Herod’s orders), but even now during Christ’s life.

41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

Jesus told the Jews — you are doing the deed of your father which in contest (“ye seek to kill me”) clearly places them him who was a liar and murderer from the beginning.

42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

Jesus hammers the point home — “If God were your father you would love Me!” As it was, they were trying to murder Him.

43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

The children of the devil cannot understand the words of Jesus Christ.

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it

In one sentence, Jesus states the Truth: You are of father who is the devil. You are trying to murder Me, just as your father is a murderers.  And you Jews lie, because you are like your father who is a liar and the source of lies.  Nothing the Jew said can be trusted.  Everything that Jesus Christ said is truth — Jews are liars and murders because they reflect the nature of the Father, Satan himself.

45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

The Jews cannot hear the word of God because they are not of God.

48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

Here is the heart of the Jew, the slander and blasphemy of the Jew.  They never did believe in Jesus as the Messiah.  Their heart is revealed — this was no sudden change — it was simply uncovering the nature of their father the devil.  The blasphemy against the Holy Spirit by charging Christ’s conception to immorality.   They disown Jesus Christ as even being a Jew at all — “you are a Samaritan!” — a people racially distinct and hated by the Jews.  And most of all, the complete inversion of truth — that Christ was possessed of the devil. Blasphemy again — it is the character of the Jew to blaspheme Jesus Christ because they inherit the character of Satan. Jews blaspheme the Holy Spirit on two counts — His provenance (His Father bing the Almighty God) and His power (which is of the Holy Spirit of God).  Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven in this age or the next.

49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.

Jesus refutes the lies — “I have not a devil” and stating that the Jews dishonor Jesus Christ. And we see earlier in John that whoever honors the Son honors the Father and whoever rejects the Son rejects the father.

“That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.” John 5:23

Emphatically Jews who do not honor Jesus Christ do not honor the Father and any Christian who honors the Jew partakes of the evil deeds of the devil (2 John 1:11)

50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.

51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.

The Jews, by their own double witness, state again the Jesus was possessed of demons.  This is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and unforgivable.

53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:

55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.

For Jesus Christ to accede to the claims of the Jew — that they somehow have a relationship with God — would make Jesus Christ Himself a liar like the Jews.  Woe to the Christian who proclaims that Jews know God the Father in any sense at all — to side with the Jews is to claim that Jesus Christ is a liar.  John the Beloved adds depth to this claim when he says that anyone greeting Jews (those who deny that Jesus is the Christ) partake in their evil deeds (2 John 1:11)

56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.

Jesus does not deny they were biological descendants of Abraham — be they of Judah, Ishmael, or Esau, and yet He declares that their father is Satan. Had Saul (before His conversion) died, he would have gone to hell regardless of his biological descent from Jacob/Israel. Jesus Christ fiercely told the Jews (the teacher of the talmud as personified by the Pharisees) that they were destined for hell. (Matthew 23:32-34)

57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

Here is the bookend — Jesus was talking to and about the Jews.

58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Jesus uses the same words that He used with Moses upon the Mount when He said tell them “I AM.”  Jesus absolutely equates Himself with God Almighty — there is no question  of this.  In John 10:30 He says “I and the Father are One” and to His disciples, begging to see the Father, “Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?” (John 14:9)

59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Here is the enmity. Enmity is a hatred even unto death. This was no spurious anomaly — the enmity was placed between Satans’ children and god’s children by the Almighty in Genesis 3:15

“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed”.

The Jews hate the Father but they cannot get to the Father and so they murdered to Son. And to this day, because the Son Resurrected and lives in heaven, they cannot get him Him either. So they come after those in Jesus Christ — this is an enmity for eternity that cannot be resolved by men papering it over and to say such things would make them liars like the Jews.

If you want this amplified, then the reader should allow the Holy Scriptures to amplify it. Jesus Christ stated twice in a row that those who call themselves Jews are false Jews and are of the synagogue of Satan. Should this not be enough for a Christian?

Christian tread on very thin ice distancing themselves from the Words of Jesus Christ, especially when their motive is not the honor of the Word of God, but rather to be seen in a good like by the world, including by the Jews.

Jesus said if you are ashamed of His words (Mark 8:38) he will be ashamed of you when He comes with the angels.  Jesus Christ was very well aware that He said things that offended — even His disciples noticed that He offended the Pharisees.

But blessed are those who are not offended by what Jesus Christ says.
