The truth is, people don’t reject the “flat earth,” or the “moon landing hoax” because the arguments are unreasonable; rather, they are afraid.  They are afraid of being shunned. They are afraid of being called a fool or ignorant.  They fear rejection from their peers. It has NOTHING to do with lack of evidence, and everything to do with ignorance, indoctrination, deception and, when faced with evidence, fear of rejection.

And yet there is one other explanation: once people “go there,” it becomes impossible to reject a Creator, and men are then forced to consider accountability to their Maker and that is just something man refuses to do. Therefore, they choose to believe the lie.

 

Satan is the Deceiver. He deceives nations.

 

Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” Genesis 3:13

But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 2 Cor 11:3

And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 1 Tim 2:14

In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, ¹³ while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 2 Timothy 3:12-13

Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. ¹⁷ Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. ¹⁸ He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. James 1:16-18

Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.  Revelation 13:14

As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; Psalm 18:30

the devil, who deceived them Revelation 20:10

many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.Matthew 24:11

false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Matthew 24:24

I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments. Col 2:4

and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 2 Thes 2:10

and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth Rev 20:8

And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. Rev 20:10

For the long-time readers of bloodandfaith.com, these topics are not my strength, but that does not mean they are unimportant. Clearly there is a firmament, and the earth existed before the sun, moon and the stars. Clearly light and darkness, day and night are not dependent upon the sun. Clearly the sun can stand still in relation to the earth.  All celestial objects move in relation to the earth, not the other way around.

“Sun and moon stood still in the heavens
    at the glint of your flying arrows,
    at the lightning of your flashing spear.” Habakkuk 3:11

Many wonder why God is not apparent to evil men.  And the answer is, “He is obvious” to the honest inquirer. However, like Eve, men prefer a deception that allows them indepdence from the Creator, which has always been Lucifer’s goal. And so the devil offers man what neither can every have — independence.
