Civil Wars are Necessary
In Judges 19 and 20 we see the story of how a girl was abducted, beaten and raped to death.
The corpse was taken back to the eleven tribes and and meeting was called.
The eleven tribes went to the tribe of Benjamin:
“The tribes of Israel sent messengers throughout the tribe of Benjamin, saying, “What about this awful crime that was committed among you? Now turn those wicked men of Gibeah over to us so that we may put them to death and purge the evil from Israel.” Judges 20:12-13
The Tribe of Benjamin refused to pursue the murderers.
So the eleven tribes declared war.
They asked the Lord (Jesus Christ) who should go up first.
“ The Israelites went up to Bethel[b] and inquired of God. They said, “Who of us is to go up first to fight against the Benjamites?”
The Lord replied, “Judah shall go first.”” Judges 20:18
They fought. Tens of thousands died. The outcome was unsure. Israel inquired again:
“They asked, “Shall we go up again to fight against the Benjamites, our fellow Israelites, or not?” The Lord responded, “Go, for tomorrow I will give them into your hands.” Judges 20:28
Today we face the same dire choice. We must avenge the blood of the children killed by Epstein and we must destroy those who have committed the crimes and those who protected the evil-doers. Same with the Grooming Gangs in England.
If this requires Civil War, it requires Civil War.
If we do not pursue this our entire nations will be held accountable by God and punished, probably by foreign nations. That is eventually what happened with the Tribes of Israel when they were taken away into captivity by Assyria and Babylon.
God judges men in eternity.
He judges nations in history.
