Anti-Semitism and Jesus Christ

Anti-Semitism and Jesus Christ

It was brought to my attention today that  “claims of Jews killing Jesus” is considered “classic anti-semitism.”   I would rephrase that, and say that claims that the Jews killed Jesus is classic Christianity:

  • “After these things Jesus was walking in Galilee, for He was unwilling to walk in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill Him.”  (John 7:1)
  • “At that time the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together in the courtyard of the high priest named Caiaphas; and they plotted together to arrest Jesus covertly and kill Him.” (Matthew 26:3-4)
  • “But you disowned the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you.” (Acts 3:14)
  • ” Which one of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? They killed those who had previously announced the coming of the Righteous One, and you have now become betrayers and murderers of Him.”  (Acts 7:52)
  • “I know your tribulation and your poverty (but you are rich), and the ]slander by those who say they are Jews, and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.”  (Rev 2:9)
  • “Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and make them know that I have loved you.” (Rev 3:9)
