The Flood is directly related to the corruption of all flesh that is described in the first few versus of Genesis 6.  That is why there is such an emphasis in Genesis 6 and 7 on the “kinds” and the importance of “male and female.”   All flesh is “blotted out” except those on the Ark. There is one Ark and one Door to the Ark (Jesus Christ).
