The Reverend Judas Iscariot:
Judas Iscariot knew Jesus Christ every bit as well as “born again” preachers.
Judas Iscariot was called and chosen and sent by Jesus Christ personally.
The two had a close relationship:
If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it; if a foe were rising against me,I could hide. But it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend, with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship at the house of God, as we walked about among the worshipers. — Psalm 55:13-14
Judas Iscariot preached the Gospel.
Judas prayed for the sick.
Judas endured the trials of the disciples.
Judas cast out devils by the power of God.
And yet he chose friendship with the world over loyalty to Jesus Christ.
Judas shrouds his treason in morality and reason — Jesus said crazy things, lashed out at the Jews, allowed the woman to wash his feet, squandered expensive oil that could have been used to help the poor . . .
. . . in his own mind, Judas was the reasonable one.
